Webinar on Learning, Development and You

XIME Kochi External Programs department launched its first ever webinar on 'Learning Development & You' on the 30th of July 2020. The Pandemic lockdowns saw people across the globe indulging in various online learning platforms to upskill themselves for transforming their businesses and careers for the new era since we need to adapt to disruptive changes and new realities, be resilient, adopt changes, unlearn and learn.

The session showcased a group of brilliant panelists :

Mr. GD Sharma, Founder & Principal Beeline HR Advisory stated that L&D is intertwined with the philosophy of a company and should be seen as capital investment that will enhance the capability of the company.  L& D is required to redraw the agenda of companies whether it is with governments, suppliers, customers or stakeholders for the post covid era.

Mr. John Devadason, National Head Operations Saint-Gobain on the other hand elaborated on the challenges he faced with most of their migrant labourers leaving with the onset of the pandemic.  Training had to be done to a group of versatile people.  Hence with this huge learning on how to manage people , assets and finances came stability to a manufacturing company that was thrown out of gear during this crisis. 

Dr. R. Nandagopal, Director XIME Kochi, the longest serving B School Director in the country indicated that campus based learning is in a state of flux in India. Indian Academicians are now adapting to new tech tools like Zoom in order to equip themselves for online teaching.

Mr. Dinesh Thampi Vice President Operations Tata Consultancy Services, Kochi brought out the urgency in upskilling knowledge in soft skills, one's specific domain and leadership skills during the pandemic period so that we  are ready for the post pandemic period.
