FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – RESEARCH WRITING & PUBLISHING

With the latest global disruption by the Covid-19 pandemic in areas like education, communication, lifestyle, travel, and the way business is done, XIME Kochi has adapted and moved on to the online bandwagon of delivering industry training and development  in full measure. The first-ever Online Faculty Development program on 'Research Writing and Publishing' was conducted on the 23 and 24 of June 2020. The full-day program saw a mix of participants and panelists from both academia and industry from India and abroad. The program content was delivered by XIME Kochi Faculty - Dr. Joshin John, Dr. Elizabeth Devasia and Mr. Rahul Lexman. 

In the  'Meet the Publishers' session with Emerald, a global publishing house Ms. Gabi Rundle from Bradford, UK and Ms. Sangeetha Menon based in New Delhi shared insights and tips about publishing with the participants. Another interesting session was the case writer's journey where Israel based Avishay Friedler, Digital Learning Strategist, CAMPUS - IL, Israel's digital learning platform shared his case on the MOOCS adoption in Israel. Dr Mercia – Dean, Lourde Matha Institute of Management Studies, Trivandrum played out her role as a protagonist in the Kerala Flood Relief Case Story. The faculty juggled with various topics like, certain key aspects to look for in a manuscript before submission, submission of the publishing process including Editorial and Peer review and the different avenues for publishing different kinds of research and cases.

With this new normal of online learning being adopted across business and society, XIME Kochi will be churning out more such engagements during the course of the year. The World Wide Web is connecting people and places in every corner of the world, as this FDP has seen both global and national participation from Latin America, Europe, the GCC and many parts of India thus making it a great leveler for people from any geographic location or any economic background to stay tuned.
