LEVERAGING THE TALENT OF GULF RETURNEES

We are aware that lakhs of Keralites have come back to the state in recent days on account of Covid 19 pandemic as well the major economic crisis faced by Gulf area countries. Many of these returnees are uncertain about the prospects of going back to those countries and many have already decided to stay back for good. However, they are back in the state at a time when the state and the country is going through the worst ever economic and health crisis that we have ever faced in independent India. Yet, we all realize that those returning to the state represent a pool of talent, skills and experience which could be profitably used for their rehabilitation in the State. The State too would benefit in the process

What is this programme about?

We plan to identify a pool of 100 skilled returnees (preference would be given to degree holders and those who have either the aptitude or experience in setting up their own ventures) and then shortlist the best 40 to be mentored and connected with the right opportunities in the industry.

We are hopeful that some of the selected candidates would be found eligible under various schemes of Financial Institutions and Banks. XIME Kochi and a Group from State level Promotional Agencies and Industry/ Professional Associations would extend continued hand-holding and mentoring support to selected candidates, as required.

Our Partners.

Federal Bank and TiE are already onboarded as our partners in this programme. We are in talks with KSuM, KSIDC, KFC, Norka and other like-minded institutions to join us for this cause.

Are you a Gulf Returnee planning to start a new venture?
