Bridging the Academia- Industry Gap !

When management expertise meets startup passion, it is the start of a beautiful future. This is what happened when Batch 7 PGDM students of XIME Kochi started working as live project interns for KSUM as part of their academic curriculum in January 2020.

A collaborative event  between XIME , Kochi and Maker Village, as part of the MoU signed , was held on 6 March 2021 to showcase the learnings, suggestions, and benefits both parties  received from each other in Live project v1.0 2020.

The event started with an address by Prof.George Paul, the Dean (External Programs ) XIME, Kochi, and Prof.Alok Krishna, (Associate Dean Academics )XIME, Kochi. He emphasized the values of XIME, the proximity advantage, and how this collaboration will help young managers progressing through stages of knowing, doing, and being. He also communicated how managerial student expertise can help startups pursuing their vision at maximum efficiency.

The later part of the event is the presentation by two final year students Mr.Joel J Manjaly and Mr.Babi Harsha Gunda of Class of 2021. They shared their experiences at the startups, contributions, and suggestions. The managerial process improvements that startups can follow to streamline their practices were discussed. An interactive Q&A session, between Maker village Technopreneurs and XIME students, was carried out at the end of the presentation.



Finally, the session ended with Dr.Joshin John, Assistant Dean , Research , XIME Kochi showcasing the benefits of startup and management academic partnerships. It also highlighted that inter-startup collaboration can further fuel innovation and technology advancement. The journey of startups and the various challenges they faced can be portrayed as case studies. The case studies will help upcoming startups be further prepared in their journey towards glory. The case study also brings exposure to the companies which can help them in breaking the glass ceiling.Joshin John XIME KOCHI

Dr. Ranajana Varghese, Deputy Director XLC , XIME Kochi and  Prof.A S Girish , Dean Administration, XIME Kochi were also present during the program and answered the queries of the  Maker village Technopreneurs.
