Independence Day Celebration

 


The 77th Independence Day was celebrated @ XIME Kochi on 15th August with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The campus was beautifully decorated with flags and balloons to commemorate the day. All the students and faculty and non teaching members of the staff gathered in the  campus premises at 9 a.m. in the morning. The celebration commenced in the portico with a short introduction by the MCs, Ms. Diva Arora & Mr. Abhishek Gogoi from batch-11. In the presence of the gathering, the National Flag was hoisted.


A solemn speech was given by the Director, Dr. Francy T.V. Amb. C.P. Ravindranathan, IFS(Retd), Chairman Kochi delivered the special message during which he delved on the India’s journey from its entry into the community of free nations to an economy that is poised to win the GDP game in the next few years having survived the acute pessimistic forecasts of some leaders like Mr. Winston Churchill the Prime Minister of Great Britain during India’s Independence.




This was followed by cultural activities including dance performances, patriotic poem recital, musical performances and a mime by the Batch 11 students.

Post that cash prizes and certificates were awarded to the Batch 10(senior batch students) for excellence along various dimensions.  Lt. Gen. T.C Joseph Scholarship for embodying dedication and excellence in their academic journey was awarded to Shruthi Rajagopal and Manisha Prasad.  XIME Ambassador award went to Kingsly Sam Raj S and Saurav Sanu Arya for exemplifying leadership and representing XIME's values with distinction.  Mallar Chatterjee and Nazarene Simon won the Chairman's Merit & Overall Performance Award and Arti Jaiswal and Santhosh V were given the Merit cum means award. Also, in the non – Academic category the Best Dressed Girl award was given to Deepannita Dey from Batch-11 and best dressed boy award was given to Harsh Chauhan from batch-10. The final event for the day was the group dance performance presented by the students of batch-11.
